About the Role
Chevron is seeking a commercially focused Business Consultant to drive profitable growth by identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across targeted market segments. This role is responsible for building a strong sales pipeline, deepening customer relationships and delivering sustainable revenue growth through strategic account management and proactive business development.
As a Business Consultant, you will play a key role in expanding Chevron’s market presence by engaging customers, uncovering opportunities and developing tailored commercial solutions that align customer needs with business objectives. You will work closely with Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding, strong execution and long-term customer success.
This role will be based in Brisbane Head Office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities across targeted customer and market segments.
Develop and execute territory growth plans to maximise revenue, margin and market share.
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive lead generation, networking and customer engagement.
Manage opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification to negotiation, contracting and implementation.
Develop tailored commercial solutions that align customer requirements with Chevron’s commercial objectives.
Drive lead conversion through disciplined opportunity management, value-based selling and strong customer engagement.
Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influence purchasing outcomes.
Conduct market analysis to identify emerging opportunities, competitor activity and customer trends.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless customer onboarding, operational execution and ongoing support.
Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM data to support business planning, reporting and performance management.
Represent Chevron at industry events, customer forums and networking opportunities to generate new business.
Review sales performance, conversion metrics and customer feedback to continuously improve business development effectiveness.
About You
You are a results-driven commercial professional with a strong track record in business development, customer engagement and opportunity conversion. You bring strong commercial acumen, disciplined pipeline management and the confidence to build relationships with senior decision-makers and influence commercial outcomes.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
5+ year’s demonstrated success in business development, sales growth and opportunity conversion.
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability and customer focus.
Experience managing complex sales pipelines, customer portfolios and territory growth plans.
Ability to identify market opportunities and convert insights into actionable growth strategies.
Excellent relationship management, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong presentation, communication and consultative selling capability.
Experience using CRM systems to manage opportunities, forecast performance and report progress.
Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on customer outcomes, profitable growth and continuous improvement.
