Chevron is accepting online applications for the Accounting Analyst position located in Makati City, Philippines.
This position will be reporting to the Joint Venture Accounting Team Leader based in Manila. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to complex accounting processes and analytics and build relationship with groups outside of finance. This role will be partnering closely with ABU technical accounting team based in Perth and will be responsible for Wheatstone and Gorgon production accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the accuracy of the interface between the Hydrocarbon Accounting model and the Energy Components database in line with asset production allocation agreements (PAA)
- Accurate accounting each month of Chevron’s share of working interest (production), Inventory Valuation and Restatement of closing inventory calculated under both FIFO and LIFO methods, in line with Corporate Policy and Accepted Accounting Principles.
- This position interfaces with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide local BU input for accounting initiatives including automation and development of digital tools that will look to deliver improved business processes and practices.
- Provide support and guidance to queries associated with the annual statutory and JV Audits
- Provide support to the JVP FinComm representative in relation to Production Allocation Accounting.
- Perform adhoc digital projects for Technical Accounting, ABU Controllers and other teams
Key skills and experience:
- Ability to analyze data and provide insightful analysis that illustrates key cause and effect, business and value drivers. Demonstrated abilities manipulating data with Excel and database applications.
- Ability to relate financial results to operational events and applicable business model.
- Ability to understand and proactively identify customer concerns and develop solutions independently
- Ability to articulate and link business drivers to risks with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse customer base including the Integrated Production Team (IPM), FFAR, Operations and the wider Controllers team.
- Knowledge of the appropriate corporate accounting policies, financial controls, compliance and assurance requirements and processes.
