About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Planner who will be responsible for supporting end to end planning across Demand and Supply for Australia, ensuring accurate demand signals, reliable supply execution, and strong alignment across commercial, operational, and finance stakeholders.

The role will have a primary accountability in either Demand Planning or Supply Planning, depending on the capability of the successful candidate, while maintaining close integration with the adjacent planning function to support business continuity, resilience, and value optimization.

This role will be based in Brisbane Head Office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Demand Planning

  • Develop and maintain accurate short‑, medium‑, and longer‑term demand forecasts for assigned products, channels, or regions in Australia.

  • Analyse historical trends, seasonality, pricing impacts, promotions, customer behaviour, and market intelligence to improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias.

  • Translate commercial and market insights into a clear, documented demand plan with transparent assumptions.

  • Provide demand inputs into monthly planning and S&OP cadence, highlighting risks, upside/downside scenarios, and key changes versus plan.

Demand Stakeholder Alignment

  • Partner closely with Sales, Pricing, Marketing, and Key Account teams to gather forward‑looking intelligence and validate demand assumptions.

  • Work collaboratively with Supply Planning, Commercial, and Logistics to ensure demand plans are feasible and understood.

  • Act as a focal point for demand alignment, clearly communicating forecast changes, drivers, and risks to enable timely decision‑making.

Supply Planning & Execution

  • Translate demand signals into executable supply plans for Australian terminals, balancing service, cost, inventory, and risk.

  • Coordinate replenishment via imports, shipping, pipelines, and inter‑terminal transfers, ensuring MSO and operational requirements are met.

  • Monitor inventory health, constraints, and supply risks, adjusting plans dynamically in response to disruptions or market volatility.

  • Support business continuity planning, including contingency actions during logistics, shipping, or quality‑related disruptions.

Supply Stakeholder & Counterparty Alignment

  • Lead close collaboration with internal stakeholders (Supply & Trading, Logistics, Terminals, Commercial, Finance) to ensure supply plans are aligned and executable.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with external counterparties supplying into Australian terminals, acting as a focal point to align on volumes, nominations, liftings, schedules, and contractual commitments.

  • Proactively communicate supply risks, constraints, and mitigation actions, influencing alignment on trade‑offs between service, cost, inventory, and risk.

Systems, Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate planning and execution data in SAP, supporting correct inventory, product, and financial accounting.

  • Work with Finance and Operations to resolve variances between physical and system positions.

  • Contribute to value chain reviews, performance lookbacks, and root‑cause analysis, translating learnings into planning and execution improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in service levels, inventory health, cost, or business performance.

About You

We know our greatest resource is the ingenuity, creativity and innovation of our people. Applications from motivated, talented individuals with a keen interest in the energy industry are encouraged.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Experience & Capability Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supply planning, supply chain, logistics, or operational role.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Downstream or Midstream operations preferred, particularly in supply chain optimisation, scheduling, shipping, terminal operations, and/or commercial negotiations.

  • Strong business acumen and operational analysis skills, with the ability to understand financial, inventory, and logistics trade‑offs.

  • Demonstrated ability to make data‑driven, risk‑based decisions, including evaluation of cost, service, and inventory trade‑offs.

  • Proven capability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑moving and operationally intense environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to quickly build trust and credibility across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Strong ownership mindset with a track record of proactively identifying issues and engaging the right stakeholders to resolve them, often under tight deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Power BI, for analysis, reporting, and communication.

  • Experience with SAP for supply execution and inventory / financial accounting is preferred; experience with TSW or similar scheduling tools is an advantage.
